"Like a kid in a candy store . . ."

is a phrase I've taken seriously since opening Polo Nuts and Candy, Etc. in 1985 here.
ur c Indeed, we've come such a long way from those days

of over 400 varieties of candies and nuts, plus ice cream and popcorn,

and in 1990 began focusing oulinary efforts and experience on
Polo Cafe and Catering Bridgeport U.S.A.

For more than 29 years we continue to create
"something different . . . something wonderful!"
like we did for thousands of folks whether at the annual
Taste of Chicago, where we served
Stuffed Salmon Fillet, Shark
Veracruz, over two million Crab Cake Nuggets,
Garlic
Mozzarella Cheese Bread, and Creme Brulee au Chocolate
during our 21 years
along the lakefront,
or with our spectacular
Cookies and Candy trays, especially at holiday time,
adorned by our signature hand-tied designer bows,
or at our masterfully catered productions and lavish, beautiful buffets
which touch so many
lives giving lots of precious memories
for our
customers and their guests.

Since 1997, I've offered an elegant private room
attached to my restaurant called the
"Old Eagle
Room".  Originally built in 1914 as a
neighbor
hood picture show named The Eagle Theater,
it accommodates up to 100 guests in a variety of custom floor plans.

According to Celeste Busk at

The Chicago Sun-Times,
"...it has some of the best acoustics in the City,"

and features a magnificent
three-manual Rodgers 360 Theatre Organ
(voiced by the late John Seng in 2000),
a 20-channel audio/DJ system, and on the theatrically-lit stage,
 a rare solid walnut
1964
Wurlitzer Grand Piano
all for your total entertain
ment and unique event.

Finally, in 2008 I added the latest extension
of our hospitality here,
my
Bridgeport Bed and Breakfast
,
offering four spacious 2-3 bedroom, hand
somely decorated,
themed suites with private bath
above my legendary
Polo Cafe and Catering Bridgeport U.S.A.
including complimentary
lighted parking in my lot next door to the south
and breakfast
downstairs in Polo Cafe.

Minutes south of the Loop, my place is ideal to gather for a special event, dinner or reception,
wedding or holy/civil union ceremony, rehearsal dinner, or memorial meal,
as well as
holiday parties, showers, corporate seminars and
 team
bonding, meetings, retreats, and entertainment
performances,
plus unique overnight lodging.

I personally oversee the kitchen and the many
details of each catered event,
and look forward to
serving you here soon!!

(we've become very dear friends along the way).
Galway Bay is a MUST-READ and is an ideal gift,
especially for grandchildren
who will treasure it for a life-time.
I've read it twice (now being made into a mini-series)
and can't wait for its sequels,
Of Irish Blood,

which will be released in Chicago on March 8, 2015 here in Polo Cafe.
